Morning Phonics: Sh sound

We started the day exploring the "sh" sound. We watched fun video's and discovered more words with the sh sound.
After, students worked with a partner to come up with a sentence using the words of the week. Students presented their sentences to the class.






Math: loonie & toonie review.

We reviewed counting by two's. We watched a couple of video's to help us count.

After, we played a game by rolling a dice, students had to name the coin and it's value.

After, students worked on a worksheet to show their understanding.

Unit of Inquiry: Spring

Today we discovered how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. 

Students discovered what a chrysalis and how a the butterfly breaks out of it once it is ready.

After, students used paint to create their own butterfly. Students also discovered what symmetry is by painting one side of the butterfly wing and folding the page in half.

Students really enjoyed watching the caterpillar transform!
