Phonics
We started the day reviewing words that have short/long Ii sounds.
Students worked on a letter Ii worksheet.
Math: Addition
Students continued to explore addition and how to create an addition story using all the proper conventions (i.e. + and =)
Students formed two groups, the first group had 5 students, and the other group had 2 students.
Students counted and added to make the number 7.
After, students added more to the group that had 2 students, in total both groups had 5 students. Students know that 5 + 5 make 10.
After, students worked in their math workbook and worked on different addition stories.
Book Fair:
Students went to the book fair with their reading buddies. Students browsed through books and created a wish list!
Unit of Inquiry: Seasons
Students continued to explore winter! As a class, we talked about the things we see, touch, feel, hear and taste during winter.
After, students worked on a winter booklet and wrote about what they see, feel, touch, taste and hear in winter.
Christmas Activities:
Students created their own Christmas crafts and colored Christmas coloring pages and decorated our banner for the Christmas concert.
