Monday, November 13


Kindness Day
We started the day talking about what kindness means and how to show kindness towards others. Students brainstormed different ways they can show kindness towards their friends.

After, students wrote kind words on paper leaves which will be displayed on a kindness tree in the auditorium 

Syra and Mila are showing kindness towards each other by hugging. 

Students were showing how they can be kind to each other by sharing. 






Morning Routine

Phonics
Today students learned the sound, action and song for the letter Ff. We watched bounce patrol and brainstormed words that have the f sound in it.

Today students wrote about what they did on the weekend



Math
Today students were introduced to our new math unit: Data Management  
Students completed a Data Management pre-assessment to see what they already know about sorting/graphing.

Unit of Inquiry: Sensational Senses

Students have been learning about their 5 senses. For the past week, students learned about their sense of sight and the different parts of their eyes. Today, students discovered their sense of hearing. 
We watched a short video clip about the different parts of ears. 

After, students listened to different noises and closed their eyes. Students were asked to pay attention to the different sounds they hear...
First, students listened to an ocean sound video.

After, students listened to a busy street video. This is what they heard....


After, students drew pictures and wrote about the different things they heard outside during recess.
