HAPPY DIWALI!!!!

Kaysha was so excited to talk about Diwali. She told us all about the traditions her and her family do on this special day! She showed students her henna.

We talked about Diwali and colored in mandalas using different patterns!

Check out our patterned mandalas!

Journal: Today students wrote words that start with the letters r and h.
Students copied prompt on the board, "words that start with r and h are..." & wrote words that start with each letter

Math: Patterning

We continued with patterning today. Students observed a photo and had to find all of the different patterns

Students found lots of different patterns!

After, we looked at this necklace, students had to figure out the pattern in order to find the missing beads.

After, students worked in their math workbook and created their own patterns!

Unit of Inquiry: Outside our Window

Today we continued to talk about fall leaves and colors. We reviewed primary colors. Students know that the primary colors are blue, yellow and red. Students were introduced to secondary colors. Students know that secondary colors are: green, orange and purple.

We went on another nature walk to gather more colorful leaves

After gathering our leaves, we went inside and looked at paint chips!

Students worked with a partner and sorted out their leaves by placing them on the paint chips that matched their leaves.

Thank you,

Ms. Ayoub
